20/20 “Unholy Matrimony” 4/7/23 Episode Summary

In Silver Lakes, California, Robert and Sabrina Limon appeared to be leading a happy life with their two children. The Limons were a friendly and outgoing couple who enjoyed going out to parties. They were also a part of a close-knit couple community known as “The Wolfpack.” But the illusion of their ideal life was destroyed when Robert was discovered dead in a remote industrial complex where he was employed. Authorities found out about the couple’s open marriage and Sabrina’s extensive affair with a younger lover, a firefighter named Jonathan Hearn, as they looked into the death.

Due to a lack of sufficient evidence, Sabrina was allowed to escape after the police arrested Jonathan and her for the murder. However, in a shocking turn of events, Jonathan agreed to testify against his lover in exchange for a lighter sentence just days before his trial. Deborah Roberts, the correspondent for the new two-hour “20/20,” examines the circumstances surrounding Robert’s death and goes into detail about the trial that pitted two ex-lovers against one another.

In this two-hour installment of “20/20,” Valerie Wass, Sabrina Limon’s appellate lawyer who is attempting to have the trial’s verdict overturned, is featured in a brand-new interview. The programme also includes interviews with Julie Cordova, Sabrina’s sister; Lydia Marrero, Robert’s sister; Nicolette, a former friend of the couple; Don Morse, Robert’s former football coach; and Serra Daldos, Jonathan’s childhood friend. In addition, Darin Grantham, a former Kern County detective, Clayton Campbell, a former Jonathan Hearn lawyer, Richard Terry, a former Sabrina defence lawyer, Harold Pierce, a former Bakersfield Californian reporter, and Ken Machini, a former KERO-TV reporter, were all interviewed. “20/20” will air on ABC on Friday, April 7 (9:01–11:00 p.m. EDT), and on Hulu the following day.

What Happened to Robert Limon and Sabrina Limon?

Sabrina and Robert Limon, who were married very young and resided in San Bernardino County, adopted a swinging lifestyle that Sabrina Limon perceived as a rupture in their sacred bond.

Despite having two kids together, Sabrina Limon felt unhappy in her marriage. While she was employed by Costco, she met Hearn, and a few months later, they started dating.

Hearn and Sabrina Limon frequently made jokes about wanting to murder Robert Limon, but those jokes eventually turned into actual planning.

Despite their plans, Limon and Hearn failed to poison Robert Limon by adding arsenic trioxide to his banana pudding. Sabrina Limon has denied having any knowledge of the attempted poisoning.

On August 17, 2014, Hearn rode his motorbike to Tehachapi, where he confronted Robert Limon and shot him at close range.

In February 2018, Limon received a sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
