48 HOURS and Peter Van Sant investigate the disappearance of Tara Grinstead, a Georgia teacher and former beauty queen who seemingly vanished overnight in October 2005, in an updated encore of “The Tara Grinstead Mystery” to be broadcast Saturday, August 20 (10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network and streamed on Paramount+. 48 HOURS reports how the case was broken open by a surprising confession – nearly 12 years after Grinstead disappeared – that ultimately led to the arrests of two men. But could the case have been solved earlier? John McCullough, who maintains he tried to give investigators a key tip in 2007 that could have cracked the case, speaks out on 48 HOURS.
