20/20 “Horror in Idaho: The Student Murders” 1/13/23 Episode Summary
Terror gripped the rural town of Moscow, Idaho, when authorities found four University of Idaho students ― Ethan Chapin (20), Madison Mogen (21), Xana Kernodle (20) and Kaylee Goncalves (21) ― stabbed to death in an off-campus house in November. The case quickly made national headlines as police worked to identify a suspect and piece together answers to the puzzling crime. Just weeks ago, a shocking break in the case occurred when authorities arrested Bryan Kohberger, a 28-year-old Ph.D. student at Washington State University, as the primary suspect and charged him with four counts of first-degree murder and felony burglary. Although Kohberger has yet to enter a formal plea, his public defender noted that he is “eager to be exonerated.”
A new two-hour “20/20,” with reporting by ABC News correspondent Kayna Whitworth, provides a comprehensive look at the case and covers the latest details, including a deep dive into the recently unsealed affidavit. The episode also includes exclusive sit-down interviews with parents and loved ones of the victims and interviews with those who knew Kohberger. “Horror in Idaho: The Student Murders” airs Friday, Jan. 13 (9:01-11:00 p.m. EST), on ABC, next day on Hulu.

Why is the 20 20 program on the HORROR IN IDAHO REPEATING AT 9:30 pm MST?
I watched 20/20 last night I noticed when the girls were at the food truck and the one girl was taking a picture of her friend did anyone notice the man walking behind them? I believe that is kohberger in the white tennis shoes.
I watched the horror in z Idaho tonight. I had an 8 year old son murdered in 1987 in Libby, MT. The offender was a repeat sec offender. Ryan VanLuchene is my angels name. I thought if the victims families tonight. We just had a parole hearing for Robert Hornback 35 years later. He went back to jail for 6 more years. I have done everything in my power not to see Hornback. I have seen him twice now in the last 2 years. Getting that face out of your head is so hard. The last person your child saw was this murderer. The family’s of the children murdered now have it in their heads. If I can help any of them I would be glad to do so. I take part in Mussing and exploited children and have met so many of us. Amazingly the pings off the cell towers were brought by a lawsuit to find Missy and Greg Smith. That is how they found their daughters body. I wished I hadn’t watched the show but it was well done but all of my heartache comes back. This man is going to be around for. Long time. In all his education I hope he has not heard of the Alfred plea. Please let me know if I can be of help to the families. Their children are dead. Not the way it’s supposed to happen .
