Final Jeopardy Explanation
Tom Clancy (April 12, 1947 – October 1, 2013) was an author best known for his technically intricate spy and military science plots that are set during and after the Cold War including his first book The Hunt for Red October in 1984 which introduces the Jack Ryan character. Other works include The Hunt for Red October in 1984, Patriot Games in 1987, Clear and Present Danger in 1989, and The Sum of All Fears in 1991.
Since his passing in 2013, Clancy’s Jack Ryan series has been carried on by his family estate including works carrying the Tom Clancy name authored by Marc Cameron, a retired Chief Deputy US Marshal who specialized in dignitary protection and Don Bentley who served in South Korea, Germany, and Texas during his ten years as an Army Apache helicopter pilot.
