Final Jeopardy Answer

The Final Jeopardy Answer is: Church of St Peter ad Vincula (in the Tower of London)

Final Jeopardy Explanation

Sir Thomas More was an English lawyer, judge, social philosopher, author, statesman, and one of the key figures of the English Renaissance.

During King Henry VIII’s reign, from October 1529 to May 16th, 1532, he served as the Lord High Chancellor of England. He opposed King Henry’s break from the Catholic Church and the Protestant Reformation.

The King’s position as Supreme Head of the Church of England and the King’s marriage to Catherine of Aragon’s annulment were both rejected by Sir Thomas More. More was found guilty of treason and executed after refusing to take the Oath of Supremacy.

His body was buried at the Chapel Royal of St Peter ad Vincula, the former parish church of the Tower of London, along with former 16th century English queens Queen Anne Boleyn and Queen Catherine Howard, as well as the “nine-day Queen”, Lady Jane Grey.
