A Lengthening Episode Summary
All that is left of photographer David Kurtz’s 1938 film of the Jewish community in Nasielsk, Poland, is three minutes of footage. The film maker’s grandson and a young boy who appears in the faded footage—one of the few survivors of the destroyed village—share their insights as this Storyville documentary reveals the tales concealed within the celluloid.
The Steven Spielberg Film and Video Archive at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum provided access to Kurtz’s footage.
