Final Jeopardy Answer
The Final Jeopardy Answer is: Peter Mark Roget
Final Jeopardy Explanation
Peter Mark Roget was a British physician, natural theologian, and lexicographer best known for publishing the Thesaurus of English Words and Phrases, also known as Roget’s Thesaurus, which was a classified collection of related words. He created it in 1805 and released it to the public on April 29, 1852.
In the first edition’s foreword, he described his thesaurus as follows:

Conceiving that such a compilation might help to supply my own deficiencies, I had, in the year 1805, completed a classed catalogue of words on a small scale, but on the same principle, and nearly in the same form, as the Thesaurus now published
