The five pairs continue the race to St. John’s as they travel south to the third checkpoint at picturesque resort town of Banff, located 2,700 kilometres away in the province of Alberta. Banff, the highest town in Canada, is perched in the Rocky Mountains at a height of 4,500 feet above sea level. In this leg, there is a need for speed because the team that arrives at the checkpoint last will be disqualified from the race.

| Five pairs of travellers participate in an epic race that will take them through many countries. However, there is a catch, the pairs cannot take planes, must leave behind their smartphones and credit cards, and will not have access to the internet. Provided only with the cash equivalent of their airfare from their starting destination to the finishing line, they must find innovative ways to manage their budget and conduct their journey. If they run out of money, they must earn some more to continue the journey. The duos must also pass through five checkpoints along the way. |
