When members of the public have interesting items to sell, Nigel Havers preside as five dealers compete for their business by bidding against one another. Simon Bower, the auctioneer, values each seller’s item before they go up against the dealers. When they enter the bidding room, they have all the information they need to try to haggle the best price from the dealers, thanks to Simon’s expert advice on the background and distinguishing features of their piece.
