Tonight (Sunday 23 April 2023), BBC Two broadcasts an episode of the series Countryfile!

Episode Summary

A showpiece for the King’s love of rural life, Dumfries House is visited by Charlotte Smith and Hamza Yassin.

At the estate’s education farm and garden, Charlotte meets students to discuss the King’s desire to inspire the next generation of food producers who value the outdoors. Charlotte also investigates the King’s initiative to revive old-fashioned crafts.

Hamza meets the newest inhabitants of the walled garden, hedgehogs, and learns how the 2000-acre estate has been modified to benefit wildlife. And organic farmer Elizabeth Buchanan, who advised Charles III on agriculture and the environment, describes how she journeyed around the nation with the King as he personally witnessed working rural life, supported small family farms, and helped to safeguard rural towns.

After the foot and mouth crisis in 2001, Joe and Hazel Relph discussed how they ended up hosting Charles III at their farmhouse.
