The story begins when Wendi Mae Davidson, a former Texas veterinarian and mother of two, reports her husband missing in January 2005. As authorities launch a search for the Air Force veteran who had survived five tours of duty in the Middle East, a joint investigation by the Texas Rangers, the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, and local authorities unveils a web of secrets that Wendi Davidson had kept hidden.

’20/20′ features an exclusive interview with Davidson, who speaks from prison, where she is serving her 25-year sentence for her husband’s murder. ABC News chief national correspondent Matt Gutman sits down with Davidson to unravel the truth behind her husband’s disappearance. Davidson discusses what she claims really happened to Michael Severance and addresses the evidence that authorities say points to her, including a toxicology report revealing large amounts of animal tranquilizers in Severance’s system contributing to his death.

The program includes chilling recordings of police interrogating Davidson in the days following Severance’s disappearance, shedding light on the intensity of the investigation. ’20/20′ also features interviews with Frank Severance, Michael’s brother, Leslie Severance, Michael’s father, and other friends of Michael Severance, who provide insights into his troubled marriage and share their feelings about Wendi Davidson.
