Final Jeopardy Answer

The Final Jeopardy Answer is: POTUS

Final Jeopardy Explanation

POTUS, or President of the United States was originally used by telegraph operators as shorthand.

The White House’s official Twitter account was created in 2009, and the @POTUS handle was established in 2015, during President Barack Obama’s second term. This was the first time the President had a social media account separate from the @WhiteHouse handle.

President Barack Obama used it in his Twitter handle, @POTUS, during his presidency, and the handle has since been passed on to the incumbent President, Joe Biden as of 2023.

There are similar acronyms used for other high-ranking U.S. government positions, such as “SCOTUS” for the Supreme Court of the United States, and “FLOTUS” for the First Lady of the United States.
