As the episode begins, the resilient Dutton family embarks on a treacherous journey westward. Led by the patriarch James, played by Sam Elliott, the family sets out to traverse the vast expanse of The Great Plains in search of a new home and the promise of a better future.
Throughout their journey, the Duttons encounter numerous challenges and obstacles, testing their strength and determination. As they make their way through the unforgiving landscapes, they must confront not only the harsh elements of nature but also the harsh realities of the time.
