“Soul Food in the Dark” follows the remarkable journey of Audra, the owner of Soul Food in the Park, a soul food restaurant facing numerous challenges. Audra’s lack of knowledge and confidence is often compensated by her tendency to express her frustrations through anger, particularly towards her husband. Recognizing the restaurant’s potential, Robert Irvine and his skilled team step in to provide a much-needed lifeline.
With time ticking, Robert and his team embark on a mission to completely renovate Soul Food in the Park, giving it a fresh new look and ambiance that matches its mouthwatering menu. Along the way, they work closely with Audra, not only to transform her restaurant but also to help her address her anger issues and develop effective communication skills.

| Chef Robert Irvine tries to turn around restaurants across America that are facing an impending demise if things don't improve. With a $10,000 budget and two days to work, Irvine uses his creativity and resourcefulness to turn the eatery's fortunes around. On day one, he assesses the business by observing the staff and kitchen during a full service. He then updates the menu and makes aesthetic changes to the restaurant in preparation for the grand reopening the following day. Irvine goes out into the community to get a crowd into the building to check out the improvements on the second day of the project. |
