Every year, numerous farms in the UK take a unique path to diversify their income by hosting music festivals. In this episode, Anita Rani heads to Somerset to meet the inspiring farming family of Andy and Jen, along with their sons. For the past 18 years, this family has been opening the gates of Fernhill Farm to transform it into a vibrant festival grounds.
Anita lends a helping hand to festival organizer Kev as they ingeniously use wool from the farm’s own sheep to craft gigantic sofas for festival-goers. The episode also features a glimpse into the daily life of the farm’s cafe kitchen, where Andy and Jen’s 18-year-old son Kyle is hard at work preparing a delicious mutton curry for hundreds of campers.
Amid the rolling fields and picturesque landscapes, Anita explores the farm’s impressive waste water cleaning system. This innovative system comprises a series of lakes that produce exceptionally pure water, serving as an official sanctuary for endangered white claw crayfish.
