Jonathan Bennett hosts teams consisting of two chefs from different generations as they tackle a series of challenges that require them to incorporate popular ingredients and gadgets from the past, as well as master viral food trends and classic dishes. A rotating panel of judges, and several celebrity guest judges, will determine whether the competitors are worthy of staying in the contest. Throughout the competition, the chefs aim to bridge the generational gap with their unique approach and techniques. From utilizing Snoopy Sno-Cone machines to baking with Easy-Bake Ovens, the competitors have to navigate challenges inspired by 1950s gelatin molds and savory Jell-O salads, as well as modern dishes like accordion potatoes and fluffy Japanese soufflé pancakes. The members of the last team standing then go head-to-head against each other in an old school vs. new school match-up to see which chef walks away with $10,000.
