First up, Shona Searson takes on the elements as she performs outdoor surgery in the rain. Her patient? A cow with an infected toe. Rain or shine, Shona is determined to provide the best care possible for this farm animal.
Meanwhile, Matt Smith rushes a little Lhasa Apso puppy into the theatre. The pup’s condition is rapidly deteriorating, and Matt is on a mission to save its life. It’s a race against time as he uses his veterinary expertise to give this furry friend a fighting chance.
And in another touching story, Julian Norton steps in to help two pigeons who’ve been victims of cruelty. With compassion and care, he strives to make things right for these birds and ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve.

| This documentary series follows veterinarians Peter Wright and Julian Norton as they attend to animals in need at their practices based in North Yorkshire, England. Peter's practice in the town of Thirsk, Skeldale Veterinary Centre, has historical significance, as it is the surgery where British veterinary surgeon James Herriot worked and found his inspiration for his collection of semi-autobiographic writings. Julian's practice in nearby Boroughbridge may be comparatively new, but it is bustling with animal patients, and together with their capable teams, Peter and Julian work hard to save and improve the lives of all creatures great and small. |
