Over seven intense weeks, these 32 professional chefs will be tested in terms of their skills, creativity, and culinary knowledge through a series of rigorous challenges. The judges will be on the lookout for the most impressive and promising talent in the culinary industry. Only those who truly excel will have a shot at winning the prestigious trophy.
In the opening heat of this exciting season, the battle for the title commences as the first four contenders step into the kitchen. To advance in the competition, they must first prove themselves in the infamous Skills Test before presenting their own culinary creations in the Signature Menu round.
The first pair of chefs faces a Skills Test set by Monica, who tasks them with preparing and cooking a fillet of brill, accompanied by a turnip garnish and a coconut sauce, all within a tight 20-minute timeframe. The challenge will test their precision in filleting the fish and their culinary expertise.
The next two hopefuls face a Skills Test set by Marcus, which requires them to poach and pan-fry a portion of guinea fowl, craft a sherry hollandaise sauce, and serve it with a bitter salad. With only 20 minutes on the clock and the judges closely observing, their butchery skills and culinary experience will be scrutinized like never before.
In the final phase, all four chefs have the opportunity to shine when they prepare their own two-course Signature Menu. With just one hour and 30 minutes, they must showcase their unique style and creativity by presenting a main course and dessert that will impress the discerning judges.
