What Happened to Brad McGarry & Killer David Kinney?
On May 7, 2017, a chilling discovery unfolded in Bellaire, Ohio, when David Kinney, along with his wife Cheri and their daughter, stumbled upon the lifeless body of their best friend, Brad McGarry, in his basement. Their harrowing encounter was captured on police body cameras as they were overcome with grief.
Initially, it was believed to be a possible suicide. However, upon closer examination by detectives, it became evident that Brad had been shot in the head. The investigation took a twist when the Kinneys revealed that Brad was openly gay and had recently ended a relationship with another man. Detectives quickly ruled out the ex-boyfriend as a suspect.
The breakthrough in the case came when another friend disclosed that Brad had a clandestine, on-and-off romantic relationship with someone known as “DJ,” who was a coal miner. This revelation led to a stunning revelation: “DJ” was, in fact, David Kinney, the man who had discovered Brad’s lifeless body.
During questioning, David initially denied being present at Brad’s house when the murder occurred, but as the investigation progressed, he began to crack. He confessed to the affair but claimed he had killed Brad in self-defense during a struggle when Brad threatened to reveal their affair to his wife.
