What Happened to Shane Patrick Moore & Killer Tucker Reed?
Aisling Tucker Moore-Reed, known by her pen name Tucker Reed, is an American novelist and former civil rights activist who has a complex history. She co-authored the young adult novel “Amber House” in 2012 and its sequel “Neverwas” in 2014. However, her life took a dramatic turn when her allegations of being raped led to her being found liable for defamation. In May 2020, she was convicted of manslaughter for killing her uncle in July 2016 and sentenced to six years and three months in prison.
Tucker Reed was born on October 15, 1989, in Los Gatos, California, and is the daughter of best-selling authors Kelly Moore and Dan Reed. She attended Ashland High School in Oregon, where she was involved in music, theater, and journalism. She later attended the University of Southern California, studying broadcast journalism, theatre, and cinema, although she dropped out in 2014.
Her career includes co-authoring the Amber House trilogy with her mother and sister, working as a reporter, and narrating the audiobook editions of her novels. Reed also played the lead role in an independent horror movie released in 2020 under the stage name Wyn Reed.
Reed gained notoriety for her activism against gendered violence and published her alleged rapist’s name on a blog. This action led to her being found liable for defamation and became a subject of academic study on online activism against rape culture.
In July 2016, she was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of her uncle, Shane Patrick Moore, and faced various charges, including manslaughter and murder. In May 2020, she pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter and was sentenced to prison.
In addition to her legal troubles, Tucker Reed was involved in advocating for safety on college campuses and founded the Student Coalition Against Rape (SCAR). She also contributed to publications like xoJane.com, the Huffington Post, and Cosmopolitan magazine.
