Megan Parra, a 29-year-old mother of two, died of a gunshot wound on June 28, 2014, in her Cottonport, Louisiana home. Authorities had concluded it was a suicide, but Megan’s family persisted in their efforts to prove it was a murder.
Dustin Parra, now 37, WAS indicted by a grand jury and charged with second-degree murder and obstruction of justice. The indictment alleges that he intentionally discharged a firearm at or near Megan with the intent to kill or commit great bodily harm.
