Dateline NBC “Lori Vallow Daybell: The Jailhouse Interview” March 7 2025 Recap & Preview

This Friday, March 7, 2025, at 9:00 PM ET/8:00 PM CT, Dateline airs a special two-hour broadcast titled “Lori Vallow Daybell: The Jailhouse Interview”. In her first-ever TV interview since being convicted for the murders of her children, JJ and Tylee, Lori Vallow Daybell speaks exclusively to Dateline correspondent Keith Morrison, maintaining her innocence despite the guilty verdicts against her and her husband, Chad Daybell.

In the interview, Lori insists, “I will be exonerated. We will both be exonerated in the future,” even after Chad was convicted and sentenced to death for the murder of his previous wife, Tammy Daybell, and Lori was found guilty of conspiring to kill Tammy. When pressed by Morrison on why she believes this, Lori claims to have seen visions in the future, “things that Jesus showed me when I was in heaven.” She describes seeing a future where she and Chad are no longer in jail or prison.

This intense and combative conversation is just one part of the Dateline special. The broadcast also features emotional testimony from Lori’s son, Colby Ryan, who opens up about how his mother’s actions changed his perception of people. He recalls, “I watched someone that I knew my entire life do what she did. And it just changed the way I view people.” He also reveals the horrific way his sister’s body was treated, saying, “The way that my sister was treated was with hate, that’s not even human to do what they did to her [body], after.”

The special also includes exclusive interviews with key figures from the investigation, including retired FBI Supervisory Special Agent Doug Hart, former lead detective for Rexburg PD Sheriff Ron Ball, and Detective Ray Hermosillo, co-lead for Rexburg PD.

Lori Vallow Daybell: The Jailhouse Interview is the seventh Dateline broadcast on the Daybells’ case, following the investigation from the beginning. The special also ties into Dateline’s top-rated podcast Mommy Doomsday, where Keith Morrison further explored the details of this heartbreaking and mysterious case.
