60 Minutes CBS “Hostages, Voice of America, Left Behind” March 30 2025

This Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 7:00 to 8:00 PM ET/PT, 60 Minutes features three powerful and timely reports, offering deep insights into major global and national issues.

Hostages

Correspondent Lesley Stahl returns to Israel for her fifth report since the October 7 terror attack, interviewing freed Israeli and American hostages. Among them are Yarden Bibas and Keith Siegel, who share their harrowing experiences in captivity and the atrocities they witnessed at the hands of Hamas. As the conflict continues, they are now fighting for a renewed ceasefire to end the war and bring back the remaining hostages. This segment is produced by Shachar Bar-On.

Voice of America

In this segment, 60 Minutes investigates the shutdown of Voice of America (VOA), the U.S. government-funded international broadcaster with an 83-year history. The Trump administration’s executive order and lockout of hundreds of VOA employees has extinguished a trusted beacon of fact-based journalism, leaving millions worldwide without access to reliable news. Correspondent Bill Whitaker reports on this controversial move and its implications for American influence around the globe. The segment is produced by Graham Messick and Jack Weingart.

Left Behind

When devastating wildfires ravaged the Pacific Palisades and Altadena neighborhoods in Los Angeles, 9 billion pounds of toxic ash and debris were left behind. 60 Minutes takes an in-depth look at the massive cleanup effort, focusing on the removal of hazardous waste by the Environmental Protection Agency. While some residents are wary of returning to their homes, the cleanup continues, with the Army Corps of Engineers handling the remaining debris. Correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi reports on the ongoing recovery efforts. Lucy Hatcher is the producer.
