Dateline NBC Pre-Empted January 9–10, 2026 for 2026 U.S. Winter Olympic Trials Coverage
Fans of Dateline NBC will need to wait an extra week for new true crime stories as the series is pre-empted on Friday, January 9 and Saturday, January 10, 2026, to make room for live coverage of the 2026 U.S. Winter Olympic Trials: U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
NBC will broadcast primetime coverage from the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri, highlighting two of the most anticipated events in U.S. figure skating.
Friday, January 9 (8:00 PM – 11:00 PM ET/PT):
The evening will feature the Women’s Free Skate and the Pairs Free Skate. Top contenders include Alysa Liu and Amber Glenn in the women’s division, while the pairs spotlight falls on Alisa Efimova & Misha Mitrofanov, the reigning U.S. champions.
Saturday, January 10 (8:00 PM – 11:00 PM ET/PT):
NBC returns with the Men’s Free Skate and Free Dance events. All eyes will be on Ilia Malinin, a three-time defending champion aiming for another national title. In the ice dance category, Olympic veterans Madison Chock & Evan Bates look to solidify their position ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympics.
