His investigation had uncovered claims of a toxic workplace at Clark County’s office, with accusations against public administrator Robert Telles, who had been the subject of several of German’s articles. German’s reporting revealed that Telles was allegedly abusive toward employees and engaged in a questionable relationship with a subordinate, further fueling tensions at the office.

The episode features interviews with the four women—Rita Reid, Aleisha Goodwin, Jessica Coleman, and Noraine Pagdanganan—who initially brought their concerns to German. They told him about Telles’ alleged harassment and intimidation tactics, as well as his inappropriate relationship. After their complaints were ignored, the women took matters into their own hands, capturing video evidence of Telles and his alleged lover in a compromising situation, which German later published.

48 Hours explores the chilling consequences of German’s investigation and whether it led to his murder. Five days after German’s death, Telles was arrested and charged with murder. He has pleaded not guilty. The episode includes exclusive interviews with the women, law enforcement, and even Telles himself in an interview conducted at the Clark County Detention Center.
