60 Minutes CBS “Death on the Chazy River, Larkin’s War, Mr. Clooney Goes to Broadway” March 23 2025

This Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 7:00 to 8:00 PM ET/PT, 60 Minutes features three compelling reports on important global and national issues.

Death on the Chazy River

Correspondent Cecilia Vega reports from the U.S.-Canadian border near the Chazy River, where a growing number of migrants are crossing with the help of human smugglers. Some smugglers openly advertise their services on social media platforms, including a Sinaloa cartel member who claims that barriers will never stop the flow of people trying to reach the U.S. Vega also speaks with an American sheriff who is seeing the consequences of immigration policies, particularly under the Trump administration, in this crucial area. 60 Minutes investigates the human smuggling network, the authorities’ struggle to control it, and the impact of current immigration policies. Michael Rey and Jaime Woods are the producers.

Larkin’s War

Former Navy SEAL Frank Larkin’s life changed drastically when his son, Ryan, also a decorated Navy SEAL, took his own life in 2018. While the death was attributed to depression, Frank Larkin did not accept this explanation. When pathologists found that Ryan had suffered from brain scarring likely caused by repeated low-level blast exposure, Frank campaigned tirelessly for better protection for Special Operations forces. Correspondent Scott Pelley tells the emotional story of Frank’s mission to improve the military’s approach to protecting service members, following the loss of his son. Henry Schuster is the producer.

Clooney stars as pioneering journalist Edward R. Murrow, telling the story of Murrow’s confrontation with Senator Joseph McCarthy during the Red Scare. Clooney, who co-wrote the original screenplay, shares his reasons for finally taking on the role of Murrow at 63 and explains why the themes of truth, intimidation, and courage resonate today. Correspondent Jon Wertheim explores the making of this powerful stage adaptation. Nathalie Sommer and Kaylee Tully are the producers.
