In 2006, while working on what was meant to be his breakthrough album “sleep all day,” he experienced a devastating loss that forced him to put his music career on hold for years. When he re-formed WIREHOUND in 2014, tragedy struck again. A severe accident left him disabled and battling Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), a chronic condition known for its extreme, debilitating pain. As his symptoms intensified, he lost the ability to stand or even hold a guitar, leaving his musical future uncertain and putting his artistic identity at risk.

A turning point came when a renowned CRPS specialist moved to Paul’s town. After extensive evaluation, a major surgical procedure, and two years of intense physical therapy, he slowly regained mobility and the ability to make music again. This recovery period eventually led him back into the studio to create WIREHOUND’s long-awaited debut album, “the anatomy of a thought undone.” Recorded at Corey Zack’s Cocoon Studio in Jersey City, the project brought together his closest collaborators along with horn and string players to craft a fully realized emotional and musical statement. After a year and a half of dedicated effort, the album was released across streaming platforms.

WIREHOUND now looks ahead to the next chapter, with plans to return to the studio in 2026 to record the follow-up to their debut.
