Dateline NBC returns with an all-new broadcast on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 10/9c with “A Killing in Midtown,” a special report anchored by Lester Holt that takes viewers inside one of the most closely followed criminal investigations in recent memory: the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
The two-hour broadcast examines the December 2024 shooting of Thompson outside a Manhattan hotel, a crime that generated worldwide attention and launched a massive manhunt.
