New “Yellowstone” Sequel Expands the Universe, to Premiere on Paramount Network in December
Paramount Network has announced a new untitled Yellowstone sequel from creator Taylor Sheridan, expanding the Yellowstone universe. The new series has been greenlit straight-to-series and is set to premiere in December on Paramount Network and later on Paramount+. The cast is yet to be announced. This comes after the epic final cycle of Yellowstone, TV’s #1 hit series, which is set to debut in November. The show has been breaking records with its premieres, garnering over 17 million total viewers. Both shows are produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios.
Chris McCarthy, the President & CEO of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios, said, “Yellowstone has been the cornerstone on which we have launched an entire universe of global hits – from 1883 to Tulsa King, and I am confident our Yellowstone sequel will be another big hit.” David Glasser, CEO of 101 Studios, said, “The Dutton story continues, picking up where Yellowstone leaves off in another epic tale. We are thrilled to bring this new journey to audiences around the world.”
Yellowstone chronicles the Dutton family, led by John Dutton (played by Kevin Costner), who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect – the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders – an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and vicious business rivalries.
Yellowstone is co-created by Oscar(R)-nominated screenwriter Taylor Sheridan and John Linson. Executive producers include John Linson, Art Linson, Taylor Sheridan, Kevin Costner, David C. Glasser, Bob Yari, Stephen Kay, and Christina Voros. Fans of the show can expect another epic tale in this highly anticipated sequel.
