Dateline NBC “Who Killed Mindy Morgenstern?” 2/10/23 Episode Summary
Following the murder of 22-year-old student Mindy Morgenstern in her off-campus apartment, a sleepy college town in North Dakota is plunged into fear. Before they find the murderer hiding in plain sight, detectives question neighbours, friends, and boyfriends.
A week later, Moe Gibbs, a neighbour, was detained and accused of killing the woman.
For the murder, Gibbs was given a life sentence in prison without the chance of parole in 2007. Although the jury in Moe’s first trial was deadlocked, the judge sentenced him to life in prison without the chance of parole after his second trial, which ended in November 2007, when he was found guilty of first-degree murder. Gibbs is still being held at the North Dakota State Penitentiary in Bismarck. He would be 128 years old when he was released in 2100 as planned.
