Season 8 Episode 1 Episode Summary
Kirstie and Phil assist pest control specialists Amy and Brian in Newtownards, Northern Ireland, as they work to resolve a problem with their five-bed chalet bungalow.
Amy and Brian moved in together 10 years after they first met on a cruise ship and instantly fell in love with their house, neighbours, neighbourhood, and garden. Brian, however, has had enough after 50 years of residing in the same home. He’s tired of his small garden, cramped kitchen, and lack of space for all of his hobbies.
Brian longs for a change of scenery and a bigger house in the country. Kirstie devises a strategy to give their house a brand-new feel for Brian without going over budget if they decide to sell.
While Amy searches for a job and nearby amenities, Phil sets out to find a future-proof house with accessible ground-floor living to meet Brian’s health needs and that is also rural enough to fulfil Brian’s dream. Who will be paying for the winner’s drinks this time? It’s a tall order, but both Kirstie and Phil give it their all.

| Property professionals Phil Spencer and Kirstie Allsopp help families who are frustrated with their homes. Whether the homeowners have outgrown the space or they want a change of decor, their property no longer meets their requirements. Offering solutions on each home is Kirstie, who believes the owners can learn to "love it," whereas Phil thinks they should "list it" and make the most of a rising property market. After meeting each couple, the presenters find out all they can about the family involved, how they use their current home and what they would want from a new one. With a budget equal to the cost of moving, Kirstie and a team of property developers transform each house to make it loveable once again.
