Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. is the current president of the Phillipines. He is commonly known by his nickname Bongbong, and initials PBBM or BBM.

He has earned ire from his country’s citizens from taking several international trips since the start of his presidency in June 2022. As of January 2023, he has taken eight trips outside the country including a secret trip to the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Singapore in the first weeks of his presidency.

The play on his name Ferdinand Magellan Jr. is from the legendary Portguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan, known for circumnavigating the globe but met his end in Mactan, near Cebu Island in modern day Phillipines.
