The protagonist of Swedish journalist and author Stieg Larsson’s debut book, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” is a journalist and co-founder of the magazine Millennium named Mikael Blomkvist.

For publishing an article that includes accusations of wrongdoing against a powerful businessman, Blomkvist is penalised 150,000 kronor in the book. Next, the businessman accuses Blomkvist of libel, which results in the penalty.

Larsson had previous expertise with investigative journalism on right-wing extremism and neo-Nazi organisations.
