Final Jeopardy Answer

The Final Jeopardy Answer is: Albert Camus

Final Jeopardy Explanation

Jean-Paul Sartre penned a memorial to Albert Camus, a French-Algerian writer and philosopher who died in an automobile accident in 1960 in the The Reporter Magazine which included the statement “the pure and victorious attempt of one man to snatch every instant of his existence from his future death” Sartre’s statements most likely refer to Camus’ passionate devotion to life and existentialist ideals.

Albert Camus was a literary and philosophical figure best known for works such as “The Stranger,” “The Plague,” “The Fall,” and “The Myth of Sisyphus.” He also received the Nobel Prise in Literature in 1957.

Despite intellectual differences, Sartre’s tribute to Camus demonstrated a genuine regard for his former friend’s devotion to enjoying life to the fullest, despite the inevitability of death.
