Vice-Admiral Sir Thomas Masterman Hardy was a British Navy officer, most famous for being the captain of HMS Victory during the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805 under Admiral Lord Nelson. He is often associated with the famous phrase “Kiss me, Hardy”, purportedly Admiral Nelson’s last words before he died during the battle.
