Season 13 Episode 2 Episode Summary

At the Tuesday clinic, Shelagh and Joyce find themselves overseeing the care of Edna Bristow, a heavily pregnant mother of one who is facing a challenging situation. Edna’s husband has abandoned her just days before their baby is due, making her a particularly difficult patient. As they work to provide support and medical care, an even greater obstacle emerges when it becomes evident that Edna’s flat is plagued by dampness, raising concerns about her living conditions.

Meanwhile, at The Shining Tabernacle church, Mrs. Wallace is convinced that a new church building is urgently needed due to the growing congregation. She is also worried about those who have stopped attending services and requests Cyril to check in on them. Cyril, in the course of connecting with the Bristow family, begins to question his own career path when he finds himself unable to offer the help they need.

Nancy and Dr. Turner become embroiled in a concerning medical case involving Sahira Khan, a young Sylheti woman who has been experiencing mysterious symptoms. These symptoms have been fluctuating, but they have recently taken a turn for the worse. Dr. Turner delves into the investigation while Nancy extends her support to Sahira and her husband, Ayub. Nancy’s decision to attend an RCN Raise the Roof campaign meeting against the wishes of some of her colleagues adds another layer of intrigue to her storyline.

Elsewhere, Trixie faces a new challenge as she grapples with the long bus commute to Poplar each day. In a bid to make her daily commute more manageable, she decides it’s time to learn how to drive. Matthew offers to be her teacher, but soon realizes that it might not be as smooth a process as he initially thought.

Additionally, Collette finds herself in a sponsored poetry recital where she must memorize a lengthy T. S. Eliot poem. This presents its own set of challenges as she strives to deliver a flawless performance.
