Before entering history, this man visited the grave of Bogdan Zerajic, who had died just a few years earlier
Final Jeopardy Answer
The Final Jeopardy Answer is: Gavrilo Princip
Final Jeopardy Explanation
The man who visited the grave of Bogdan Zerajic before entering history is Gavrilo Princip. Princip, a Bosnian Serb nationalist, is infamously known for assassinating Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria in Sarajevo in 1914, an event that precipitated the start of World War I. Bogdan Zerajic was also a Bosnian Serb nationalist and a member of the same revolutionary movement as Princip, known as Young Bosnia. Zerajic attempted to assassinate the Austro-Hungarian governor of Bosnia and Herzegovina, General Marijan Varešanin, in 1910 but failed and subsequently took his own life.
Princip’s visit to Zerajic’s grave was symbolic and inspirational for him. Zerajic was considered a martyr within the nationalist movement, and his actions and dedication to the cause profoundly influenced Princip. This visit underscored Princip’s resolve and commitment to the nationalist ideals, setting the stage for his later actions, which ultimately had monumental global consequences.
