Final Jeopardy Answer
The Final Jeopardy Answer is: Golden Fleece
Final Jeopardy Explanation
According to Greek mythology, the Golden Fleece is the fleece of Chrysomallos, the golden-woolled, winged ram who was the son of Poseidon, the god of the sea, and Theophane. The fleece represents kingship and power.
In the historical account, Theophane was taken away by Poseidon to the island of Crumissa, where he changed her into a ewe and himself into a ram. Chrysomallos the golden-fleeced ram was born from their union.
It plays a role in the story of Jason and his band of Argonauts, who set out on a quest for the fleece at the command of King Pelias in order to establish Jason as the legitimate heir to the throne of Iolcus in Thessaly.
