Final Jeopardy Explanation

First Lieutenant Michael Joseph Blassie (April 4, 1948 – May 11, 1972) was a United States Air Force officer who was killed in action during the Vietnam War. Blassie was the unknown service member from the Vietnam War buried at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.

After his remains were identified by DNA testing in 1998, his remains were moved, at his family’s request, to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri, where he was reinterred with full military honors on July 11, 1998. The crypt at the Tomb of the Unknowns that once held his remains has remained vacant ever since. The crypt cover has been replaced with one that bears the inscription, “Honoring and Keeping Faith with America’s Missing Servicemen”.
