Final Jeopardy Answer
The Final Jeopardy Answer is: Kentucky
Final Jeopardy Explanation
The first Vice President & the first President not born in one of the original 13 states were both born in Kentucky.
The first U.S. President born outside of the original 13 colonies was Abraham Lincoln, who was born in Kentucky. Kentucky became a state in 1792, making Lincoln the first president born in one of the states that were not part of the original 13 colonies. Lincoln, the 16th President, was born in 1809.
The first U.S. Vice President born outside of the original 13 colonies was Alben W. Barkley. Barkley was born in Kentucky as well and served as Vice President under President Harry S. Truman from 1949 to 1953. He was born in 1877, long after Kentucky’s statehood.
